Armor Screen® hurricane protection is transparent, easy to deploy, lightweight and amazingly strong.
Armor Screen is a flexible, transparent membrane designed to withstand even the strongest hurricane winds without rupture and to deflect large and small missiles. The system is constructed of a technologically advanced, lightweight fabric that is 95% solid and 5% porous, allowing visibility and natural light into protected structures while effectively eliminating high winds and driving rain intrusion. Armor Screen protects from wind, driven rain and flying debris better than all other methods, bar none! Armor Screen is Miami-Dade certified including large missile impact and wind pressure tested to 195 PSF (276 MPH) NOA No. 03-1204.1. With over 8,000,000 square feet installed, Armor Screen systems weathered four hurricanes in 2004, successfully protecting people and property. |

Freedom of design for architects with strength respected by engineers.Armor Screen provides unmatched design flexibility for protecting facilities of all types. Applications that are impossible with other products are accomplished with Armor Screen. Shelters, fire-rescue stations, auto dealerships, airports, hospitals, store fronts, lanais and sliding glass doors are easily protected. Since Armor Screen is flexible, it can be adapted to most architectural details. Every screen we make is custom-engineered by the manufacturer to ensure we meet your exacting specifications. Maintenance free. Worry Free.Constructed completely of corrosion resistant materials without moving parts and backed by a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty, Armor Screen takes care of you. You don't have to take care of it. You can get through it but storms can't.A major drawback to many shutter designs is that, in keeping the bad weather outside, they also trap the building occupants inside. The flexible barriers of Armor Screen can be arranged to allow for easy access in and out of the structure. Emergency management personnel agree that this is an extremely important feature in your emergency plans.

Industrial Applications
Because Armor Screen provides unmatched design flexibility it can be custom made to protect any type of structure including providing continuous wind protection for workers and equipment on offshore rigs, critical areas in refineries, unusually shaped refinery structures, emergency command centers, telephone and electrical infrastructures, and endless other possibilities.
Residential ApplicationsApplications that are impossible with other products are accomplished with Armor Screen. Lanais and sliding glass doors are easily protected. In addition to protecting windows and doors, for an increased level of protection your entire below roof line structure can be enclosed to eliminate dangerous compression zones that can cause the loss of your roof structure. Most installations can use our basic removable barrier, roll-up, or track system. All types of installations may use wind force to create pull down, strengthening the structure. Armor Screen can be put up without tools and is easily deployed in a fraction of the time required for other products. Because Armor Screen is so lightweight anyone physically capable of climbing a ladder can deploy it quickly and easily.

Local & Municipal GovernmentNominated for the Florida Governor’s Award for Innovation in Technology. Supported by emergency management personnel. Armor Screen protects from wind, driven rain and flying debris better than all other methods, bar none! Armor Screen is Miami-Dade certified including large missile impact and wind pressure tested to 195 PSF (276 MPH) NOA No. 03-1204.1. With over 8,000,000 square feet installed, Armor Screen has experienced four major hurricanes in the summer of 2004, with wind forces ranging from 2 through 5, the strongest category. Charley came ashore as category 4, but went through quickly, almost like an oversized tornado. Frances, onshore as category 3, was very slow and pounded buildings for two full days finding any structural weakness.
The Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) has released a story about using Armor Screen to protect emergency resources during the recent storms. Read the story here. City and County officials can find information on accessing the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant for funding community projects here. In addition, a copy of Florida’s Handbook for Hazard Mitigation Projects can be downloaded here.

Fire Stations, schools, administrative offices, pumping stations, emergency command centers, critical hospital facilities can all benefit from the flexibility and effectiveness of Armor Screen Your most durable structures can be easily converted into emergency shelters. In most applications Armor Screen can be easily deployed by the staff at each facility negating the need for an additional workforce.
The Orange County Emergency command center is the command center for the Disney World area, and is possibly the most sophisticated center in Florida. Continuous operation during any emergency is crucial. The center was protected by various types of Armor Screen installations, including 29’ tall rollup screens protecting entrances and banks of windows. These screens withstood the full onslaught of hurricanes Charley and Frances, including having 15’ tall trees bounce off.

Testimonials:“Orange County Fire Rescue installed Armor Screen on many of their stations. Armor Screen was used to protect the overhead doors, as well as windows, doors etc. Many of the overhead doors included glass panels. We were even told that some of the stations with drive through doors, front and back, left all doors open during the hurricane and found it very comfortable, rather than the closed in, stuffy atmosphere when boarded up. “It protected our glass overhead doors, yet allowed us to get our trucks out immediately.” Lieutenant Rafael DelValle, Shift ”C” commander, Volusia Station 74.
